How I make my Images...

Description

After many requests for how i make my images, I decided to upload a little tutorial... Sorry for my English again...

Okay... I try to explaine a bit how I made the ''Snow Hawk'' image.
Everything you see on this picture are several ingame screenshots combinated to one image.

1. First I always begin with my character... As you can see, she wears a combination of 3 different Armors

-1a: Stormcloak Armor

-1b: Steel Plate Armor

-1c: Iron Armor

That means, I made 3 different Screenshots, without changeing the camera position. Every screenshot is for one Armor. Now I have 3 images, same character position, but with different armors. Now I open Paint.Net and create 3 Layers. Layer 1 is for the Stormcloak Armor, Layer 2 is for the Steel Plate Armor and Layer 3 is for the Iron Armor. Now I save it as PSD file and open it with GIMP. Now I can cut off some parts of the Stormcloak Armor or some parts of the Steel Plate Armor and and and... until I have a good looking combination of armors.

2. This part takes sometimes a lot of patience... With the console command ''player.placeatme ...'' I spawn some warriors in the background and set them to the right position with the command ''tc''. When you are happy with the positioning of the people you can make the screenshot. Important is, that it has to be the same lighting or sun direction like in the screenshot of your character in step 1. Now I open GIMP again and create a new Layer for the background-groupshot.

3. Now we need a ''main'' background... I always walk through whole Skyrim until I find the right subject. If you found a fitting place for your background you can take the screenshot. Now I open GIMP again and create a new layer for the ''main'' background. I mostly make it blurry with the 'gaussian blur' filter.

4. Now I go in the game again and make some screenshots of swords, shields and other stuff, which I can add to my image. On this one I made a screenshot of her sword and put it behind her back. For that I created again a new layer in GIMP.

5. Same like in point 4. Here I added some shields in front of the background-groupshot. Details details and details... That it is, what makes an image special...

6. GIMP again... I use the 'paint brush' tool to add some warpaints to the faces on the background warriors. The same for my character. The extensions of her ''vanilla'' warpaint are all handpainted with the 'paint brush' tool.

7. Now I paint some details in her hair with the 'paint brush' tool... Make it a bit smoother with the 'blur' tool and the 'smudge' tool....

After all these steps, I put all layers together to one layer and save it as a jpeg... Then I go to Paint.Net and play a bit with the coloration and lighting until I get the end result....... I know it sounds very complicated and my English isn't the best... There are so many things to tell, like all the console commands I use and and and.. Feel free to ask me more questions. I really like to help other screenshooters/screenarchers...

This is... I was wondering how you made it cause it's so beautiful so Skyrim! I love the story too I's so alive and I can almost feel the cold weather just by looking at the picture. I know I wish I had been there (with Ulfric LOL). :)
